Dear Learn Joomla! Participants,

We are very pleased to know that you are going to be participating in the Joomla! Training Workshop taking place soon.

First-off, please take our Pre-training Survey so that we know how best to train you. Once you've done that, you are free to proceed below..

Pre-Workshop Preparations

Please prepare for your workshop or online training session by reviewing the Learn Joomla! Training Outline below.. Only for paid up trainees - if you are just browsing; Register to Learn
There is some important pre-workshop action which includes;

• Branding materials (logo, colour scheme, backgrounds, graphics, icons, letterhead, business card in electronic format)
• 50 images (resized to 72 dpi and [800 x 600] px, unless you do not know how to do this - we will show you)
• 5 static content items (mission, vision, values, policies, procedures, shareholders, ownership, about, profile, portfolio etc)
• 5 news items (local, industry, events, activities, press releases, articles, editorials, write-up's, features, or use search Google for relevant news)
• 5 documents (word, excel, pdf, zip, rar format eg: pricelists, product sheets, statements, reports, certificates, registration info.)
• 5 web links (Website addresses of other sites that are related to yours eg: suppliers, customers, competitors, partners, alliances, groups etc.)

2. Register an account on the following useful Joomla! websites (we suggest that you choose one username / password combination and stick with that throughout):

- Joomla SA Portal
- Learn Joomla!
- SAJUG
- Joomla.org Forum

- Web Developer tools
- Google Toolbar
- Google Utilities
- ScreenGrab
- Firebug
- View IE Tab

4. Download and install Picasa, an image management system, which is extremely useful in organising your locally stored images.

   - Download Picasa : FREE from Google

5. Please note: We will provide you with online training materials, including all the Joomla! software, manuals, extensions and resources that you may need.

6. Please advise us know if you are not a PC user (i.e: If you use a Mac or Ubuntu powered computer) so that we can prepare accordingly. Some of our training resources are MS Windows-dependent, however there are normally suitable alternatives - these just require a different set of tools, which we generally can supply.
